Micah Pawluk

micah.jpgEven before completing his Honours Bachelor of Music at Lakehead University, piano whiz Micah Pawluk had already performed at New York’s famed Carnegie Hall, having won first place in the 2013 Crescendo International Music Competition. Pawluk grew up in Dorion, Ontario, where nature was an integral part of his upbringing and continues to be so. Though he didn’t begin his formal piano studies until the age of 12, his talent shone early, earning him entrance to the performance piano program within just six years of his studies. Micah has medaled on the European stage as well, bringing home third place in the Senior Division of the International Music in the Summer Festival and Competition in Cremona, Italy.

The Junior Musical Theatre Troupe from Applauze Productions of Thunder Bay. Known for their infectious enthusiasm, talent and confidence, these young girls – ages of 9 to 12 – will perform an inspiring piece from a well-known Broadway musical. Denise Krawczuk is the founder and Artistic Director of Applauze Productions and has been involved in cultivating artistic careers for more than 18 years, having produced two provincial winners for Musical Theatre. “It’s a very special and exciting time for us. To see these girls grow and flourish means everything, and they have been working extra hard to fit in additional rehearsals in an already full competitive season,” said Krawczuk of the opportunity to share the stage with the diverse group of speakers and performers within the TEDx platform.
